This is the inaugural release of our Grenache Noir grown in the Red Hills AVA of Lake County. The Red Hills AVA consists of volcanic soils that are well drained and rich in black obsidian, quartz crystals and are of course red in color due to the high iron content. The Grenache vineyard sits at an elevation of over two thousand feet above sea level. Made in very small quantities this wine by winemaker Tres Goetting shows the character of the varietal and speaks of the soils from which it is grown. The rootstock is 3309 and the clonal selection is 513.
Only 150 cases made.
